What do signs tell your guests?

Welcome Sign:

Start off your event in a welcoming way to your guests! Not only is it a cute way to show off some personalities or a theme that you may have for the event (woodsy, celestial, disco etc.) This helps as a directional tool as well, usually signaling toward the entrance of the ceremony or reception area. If your guests have never been to your wedding venue, they may be a bit trepid about entering the building/area if there isn’t any obvious signage that your event going on.

Seating Chart + Place Cards + Table Numbers:

okay these are a MUST-have. Believe it or not--your guests will be more comfortable if they have a little direction and know that they have an intentional space that you set for them. It doesn't matter if there are 10 people at the event or 200 at the event--it makes for a smooth transition from cocktail hour to reception!

Bar Menus:

Most bars don’t have a full bar, so you’ll need to decide for your cocktail, beer, and wine options! If guests aren’t aware of the options, they might play 20 questions with your poor bartenders to figure out what they would like to drink. This could create a bottleneck situation at the bars, where guests are waiting in line rather than spending time mingling, dancing, etc.  Let your guests in on the secret!

Reserved:

My biggest pet peeve during wedding ceremonies (other than people taking videos/photos on their phones in landscape) has to be when people leave seats open in the front rows and sit mostly in the back. This happens because your guests are nervous that they are going to be sitting in a spot that was ‘reserved’ for a family member or friend who may be a part of your wedding processional. If you put the reserved signs on the front two rows or whatever you may need to cover reserved seats…this shows your guests that you already thought that through and they will fill the ceremony chairs from front to back.
